Foreword Dear Readers, We are delighted to present our fi rst Sustainability Report. We are proud to say that we have an intensive and instructive journey behind us and an equally challenging and exciting one ahead of us. This fi rst casualfood Sustainability Report forms the basis for our company’s sustainability strat- egy. We are on a sustainable journey and take this issue extremely seriously – and not just since it has become the focus of commercial activity across all sectors. Our innovative NATURAL health food concept was launched back in 2012, followed by SUPERFOOD in 2018 – both of which include a sustainable selection of vegan and vegetarian products. As one of the top players in travel catering, we are aware of the responsibility we bear. As a result, our in-house sustaina- bility team from various departments is working with great dedication to bring us closer to our ambitious goals step by step. PEOPLE, PLANET, PRODUCTS – these are the three pillars of our sustainability strategy, which we would like to present in our fi rst report. The fi rst pillar, PEOPLE, revolves around our employees. Our objectives here are to continue safeguarding and creating attractive jobs, to uphold human rights, diversity and equal opportunities, and to ensure occupational health and safety for all employees. The second pillar, PLANET, focuses on combating climate change, reducing food waste and increasing the use of sustainable packaging. Finally, the third pillar, PRODUCTS, is dedicated entirely to the topics of balanced nutrition, sustainable products and supply chains, and responsible marketing. The development and systematic establishment of our in-house sustainability brand POP (Protect Our Planet) – which serves as a green foundation underpinning all thirteen of our in-house brand concepts – clearly illustrates how passionate we are in this area. We also pro- vide detailed information about this in this Report. With the dili- gence for which bees are known, our casualbee has collected all the key information and will guide you through the report.
